yesterday, after a number of sketches, I finally managed to draw Moon, from Honest John, with some success.
I know what Caddy looks like, I know just what Honest John looks like (even though I have yet to succeed in drawing him -- I've tried and failed). Moon's appearance other than in vague terms remained illusive until last morning. a character emerged with heavy inspiration from the look of the character Carys from the Torchwood episode "Day One".
she looks a little more fragile and less savage than I had pictured her. this can perhaps make her new to me.
tomorrow I will draw a map of Spray even though I have the geography mostly worked out already.
having lost my headphones I could not listen to Current 93. and I had hit a patch in the novel where I had to have a better grasp on the physical environment. so I took out about twelve books from the library (carted them around with me, too, all of Tuesday). got out a regional study and history of Cornwall written circa 1600 that to my surprise mentions the Grenvilles, ancestors of mine. got some more. have another book in my own library with a chapter to read. lots of research on english country life and fishing villages. listen some Anne Briggs now that I have headphones again. listen to some more Current 93.
