Did you know that Bush is trying to pass a law that requires everyone (yes women too) ages 18-26 to serve two years in the military? That means that all my friends and all your friends have to go serve. The only way around it is if you're a senior in college and even then they just let you finish your senior year and then you have to serve. I dunno ( Read more... )

okay so out of curiosity I did my reserch and discovered that this is the same thing that came up last year, and while searching repetitive independant websites I found that in the senate there were two DEMOCRATS that voted the serving two years thing. It was turned down by a huge majority because it was such a crazy idea. This of course, gave the press yet another chance to find some way to turn crap around on president bush.
Secondly I'd like to say that I know you're very open about your christian faith scotteroo, and I'd like to ask that how (not that i know how you're voting...but) anyone professing christianity could vote for someone that obliverates every good moral we have left in the nation. Examples inclue abortion, gay marriage... etc. I mean In christianity we cant pick rights and wrongs, there are somethings that are just right and somethings well... just wrong. Kerry is said to be one of the most liberal politicians in ages. Many a time I've seen that people our age are going out and basing decisions on the media, and from only what we've heard when in reality we should be going out and looking for our own answers. Sorry If I got off a bit. I was just wanting to set that straight, do a search for independent political websites and it will show you quite clearly thats all hearsay.

First...by look it up I meant go to the website that Congress has and search though all the bills that are going through the system right now until you find the one that says 18-26 year olds have to serve in the military.

Second....I hope we can elect a president that will help the United States to keep what this country was founded on. FREEDOM. May that be freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of choice, whatever. FREEDOM to do what we want to do and not be forced to do things we may not want to do.

Last....above all, I hope we can elect a president that is smarter than me because I think that the president of the united states should be smarter than a 19 year old college musician.
