Thank you! No, that wood is red cedar and is meant to be left unpainted. I'm debating about whether or not I should stain it. I like the natural silvery-gray of aged cedar, but I've seen some fantastic looking stained cedar, too. We need to seal it once all the leaves drop off the trees. We have to wait because the sealant is photosensitive and needs several hours/day of light, which we don't get when the trees are in leaf, to cure
