The final proofs arrived yesterday - thank god. I was afeared that I might have to wait until the fortnight after the hols to check them.
Even though they looked pretty cool before with their proper sized pages and proper cover I had another extra surge of joy when I saw their bar codes on the back. It's like they're proper books and EVERYTHING, you know?
However, proofing is a pain and I hate it. 17 edits in the first 25 pages does not bode well. I am hoping it is just me being over finicky as they are largely just a comma here and there rather than their they're or there sort of things.
I have decided to lay last year's Nanowrimo (Like Father) to the side in favour for the next Blood Lust 1.5: L'Hunch Est Dos. It's about Penny and Nutter rekindling their relationship.
It's odd because this one was probably going to be one of the last (if at all) novels I attempted in the series but I've gotten myself all enthusiastic and stuff about it. I think Revelations has thrust Penny into a more dynamic character than she had been and they have such potential in their history that it could go on for ever.
There are a couple of plot holes I need filling but that sort of thing hasn't stopped me before. I have an end to this so I've got my point 'A' and point 'Z' and all the other bits I can just make up as is my want.
I'm not sure I can wait till November to get started.
