Dust
Well, well, well. After a years long absence from writing things down in this journal I have returned.
I have to admit the reason for my absence was infidelity. As far as journal/blog/electronic ego massaging goes, I found others to spend my time on. Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook. There is only so much self aggrandizing one can do, and poor LJ just fell by the wayside. I would always threaten to return to posting here, but when there was another option I would use that instead. Sometimes because it was more convenient. Other times because LJ's popularity just isn't what it once was. I mean why bother to post on LJ where you will be if more people will see that post on twitter? Why post a funny picture here when more folks will see it on Tumblr?
I have, however, kept reading my friends posts. That is something I think I will do till they shut down the site. You folks are simply too fascinating to stay away from for long.
LJ has it's strong points. I would have already run out of characters on Twitter writing this. If I stuck this on Tumblr it would only be read by a hand full of folks on my followers list (in this respect it is not much different from LJ). And since there are no "cuts", all it would do is get in the way of the lulz and pron.
Also there is just something about LJ. It feels a bit more personal. I realize that it is completely me assigning it this attribute. But it just is for me.
In any event, I am going to attempt to post more here. Lately I just feel the need to write down more involved posts. Hopefully I can keep it up.
