So, after reading an opinion by Justice Thomas, in which I actually agreed with him, I think I discovered my central dilemma of law school.
Basically, it is a rigorous academic environment in which one is forced to question various assumptions and see the same issue from various perspectives. That's fine. I don't have a problem with it and in many ways I actually enjoy the Socratic dialogue. The problem (for me, I think) is that this classroom environment is combined with a social/professional culture that encourages everyone to get in line, follow the herd, and not question the wisdom of one's betters. And above all, keep making that cash register go ching-ching!
As I type this, it's now starting to hail. I don't know if I should venture out, or stay close to home in case the plague of locusts starts soon.
