“Katherine, please,” Bree hissed. “We’re in public.”
Immediately, Katherine stopped rubbing her toes against Bree’s leg. She straightened herself in her chair and crossed her ankles. She readjusted her napkin perfectly in her lap. Her charade was enough to fool everyone in the restaurant.
Everyone except her girlfriend. Bree gently picked up Katherine’s hand and squeezed it. “I really appreciate your patience. I promise this won’t-”
“Be much longer,” Katherine finished softly. “I know.” Sadly, she did know. Something always came up. She would be waiting forever to be Bree Van de Kamp’s public girlfriend. Someone was always watching.
