Goodbye 2 a.m. bedtimes and Tumblr-ing until all hours, and then waking up whenever I want. That was kinda bitchin'.
Goodbye also to having my girlfriend buy me things I need, like shampoo and basic necessities because everything is so frigging expensive. Why is body wash almost $4? And why is mayonnaise almost $5?
Goodbye to some of the crippling depression I've been suffering. Hopefully.
My girlfriend bought me a Congratulations card tonight in celebration. And my first real paycheck I'm taking her out to dinner. The last time I paid for dinner was the night I got laid off, January 19, 2010. Hooray for that.
I guess I shouldn't put the cart before the horse. Let's hope I don't fuck anything up and I can hold onto this job for a while. I talked to the boss on Monday because she invited me to the company Christmas party. How nice is that? I declined though, and said that I'd rather meet co-workers in an office setting rather than a social one. I can't think of anything more awkward. While we were on the phone I asked if I should pack a lunch and anticipate a full workday, and she said yes, that I'd probably be working close to 40 hours a week. This may be a full time thing after all.
Now I have to retrain myself to get back into working hours, LOL. I deserved the few years sleep I think, after having to get up at 5:30 every morning and commute 3 hours round trip every day into Manhattan. I'm going to miss looking at the clock and then rolling over to go back to sleep.
