Ry and Biz's Horrible Halloween Blog!

So! Biz and I had a HALLOWEEN ADVENTURE last night! Links are to pictures (Album here), video blog to come.

We finished costumes and packed up, and then left here around 5-ish, headed in the direction of Alewife Station and armed with wai-wai GPS-chan, also known as Garmin! Quick stop off at Home Depot and Wendys for gloves for me and food for both of us, and we were off~

Drive down was quite pretty, but also pretty uneventful... Sang a lot of Doctor Horrible until my iPod radio transmitter got beat up by real radio stations, and then sang Queen until I got sick of it (which didn't take long XD) and I wound up playing iPod solitaire most of the drive... Parked at Alewife after only a few small driving confusions, and pinned Biz into her costume, took some photos, and headed out.

Got on the T with NO IDEA WHAT WE WERE PLANNING TO DO \o/ There was a guy dressed as Clark Kent sitting across from us on the train, and at Davis a guy dressed like Peter Pan got on. Decided while on the train that we would get off at Harvard Square, because surely, there would be something interesting to do there!

Wandered around and enjoyed people watching and looking at interesting pretty stuff, and eventually wound up in a comic store for a little bit. Didn't buy anything, but I thoroughly enjoyed flipping through "Tank Girl 2" and "Harley and Ivy". Went to a DELICIOUS coffee shop (Peet's Coffee and Tea) next, and the barrista actually recognised our costumes! When she took down names for our orders, Biz's was under "Dr. Horrible" and mine was under "Captain Hammer". I only ordered a medium Dark Chocolate and Caramel "Freddo" (iced thingie), but she gave me a large instead! And Biz's drink was tiny. SCORE ONE FOR JUSTICE!

Wandered around some more after that and wound up in the Garage Mall, and went to Newbury Comics and Hootenanny, where we saw a guy in a Goku costume (Newbury) and an EXCELLENT Steampunk costume (Hootenanny). We were GOING to go to Lush, but I figured they were closed already. But when we left the Garage Mall, it looked like they had just closed :( OH WELL.

After that we headed off in search of food... There were a LOT more costumes everywhere, and it was awesome. There was a pair of live statues in front of the T stop at this point, and i took a picture and tipped them, because they were awesome. I want to do that some day, if I could find out what I'd have to do as far as legality goes, and if I could find a group who would "perform" with me.
Got flagged down by an MBTA cop who asked us about our costumes, and we had a fun chat with him, and continued on our way... And got approached by another Dr. Horrible! Snapped a picture of him and Biz, and then headed on our way and took candy from strangers! No, really, two guys were outside a bar handing out lollipops. Had a brief chat with them, in which we declined their kind offer to come in for scorpion bowls, because Biz is a) unable to have alcohol without dying, and b) underage. Also saw an AWESOME halloween bike parade, which I filmed the entirety of, luckily.

Finally found food, in the form of delicious delicious Dunkin Donuts goodness, and then headed back to the train.... Due to my being REALLY COOL, we missed our train by seconds, because I can't read and didn't realise the train we were waiting for was in fact the inbound train, not the outbound train, like it should've been. So we dicked around for a bit while waiting, and then headed back to the car~ Stopped off very quickly to get some cash from the ATM and vandalize a sign in the ATM booth, then headed up and plugged in the address to what we THOUGHT would be where we'd be seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but...

Biz's GPS lied. We drove all the way out to Foxboro, only to have it direct us to someone's house in the middle of nowhere, rather than the theatre. THOUGH AS IT TURNS OUT, the cast I wanted to see performed at 10:30, rather than 12. So we wound up not seeing it >\ Drove home, then, and got pulled over for speeding. Explained we were kind of horribly lost, and they let us go without even a warning, and I proceeded to pass the fuck out until we got home. \o/

ALL IN ALL, it was great fun, even if we didn't really do much of anything XD I wish there were more excuses to wander around Cambridge in costume. Really though, I just want to wander around Cambridge/Boston again in the very near future.
