So! As I'm sure last night's disappointingly poor-quality phonepost gave away, I went to a concert last night. Howie Day came to perform at my former university, and miroku64 bought me a ticket.
She and Wiles picked me up and we went out to her place, and then to Concord for some errands first (where "errands" means "taking Wiles to buy Silent Hill 5 and shop for a dildo for Niki because she lost their bet") and wound up finding Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 for a lot cheaper than I'd found them for online. I spazzed a little when I found them |DD They were tucked away in a corner of the used game walls, and I spotted them while just about to leave. soexcited omg. Will have to exercise self-control and finish .hack//infection fir-- oh who am i kidding there are 3 more .hack games in that series that I don't own yet. I'm totally starting DDS when I get home.
BUT ANYWAY yeah the concert was fucking amazing. I had my camera with me, and flash photograph and recordings surprisingly weren't prohibited in Hanaway Theatre, so I took a couple videos and pictures of the friend of Howie's who opened for him (talented kid! He did a cover of Radiohead's "Exit Music For a Film", which thanks to alioth is one of my favourite songs at the moment) and a TON of videos and pictures of Howie himself (though I burned through my good quality video really quick, so the latter half of the concert was filmed in compact camera mode: no live zoom, and poor video quality.
But oh god. He does some AMAZING stuff. It was just him and his guitar up there - no band, and he had a series of effect pedals at his feet so he could record himself, play it back, and them harmonize with himself. God, it was beautiful. He sang a BUNCH of stuff off the new album he just got back from recording in London, which was all brilliant. I've actually bought all of his albums (SHOCK AND AWE) ever since I first saw him way back when I was a kid and he was opening for a Mandy Moore concert don't fucking judge me okay i was like 12. and selling CDs and signing autographs during her show, so I can't wait to get ahold of his new one, when it's out.
I'll have to upload video later so I can share some of the super awesome stuff he did. A lot of it really took my breath away. He's really a music artist. ;;b SOAWESOME.
After that a bunch of us went out to a bar and had drinks and chinese food, and I caught up with people i haven't seen in months, which was awesome ♥♥♥ This is the first time I've been back to Plymouth since I moved back home, so it's good to see everyone, even if some people decided they didn't want to come out to see me. Crashed in Krista's room for the night, since she was too tired and drunk to drive me back to Belmont, and I think we're going to go see the school's production of Hamlet today \o/ Good times~
ALSO cryfuckuwolf IS FUCKING EPIC. B-BEST GAME EVER OMG I LOVE EVERYONE. WANT TO PLAY IN ANOTHER OCTOBER GAME OMG.
