One of my dearest friends inspired me to come up with my reading list this year...
Hasty 16/11/05: kahapon wala ako magawa so i checked out the list for the pulitzer prize winning novels. happy naman ako that i've read some previous winners. "the mambo kings play songs of love" won in 1990. some of the other pulitzer prize winning books i've read are: "a good scent from a strange mountain" by robert olen butler (1993) (na super ganda even though in one of the stories ay nilait niya ang patis galing sa pilipinas), "the hours" by michael cunningham (1999), "middlesex" by jeffrey eugenides (2003). meron akong "interpreter of maladies" by jumpa lahiri (2004), pero di ko pa feel basahin. nabili ko nga pala itong book na ito for 200 pesos sa isang small sari-sari store sa caticlan last year.
Bestfriend, I hope you could give me an idea or a review of the Hours, Middlesex and Mambo Kings!

What inspired me to make a list?
I've had an opportunity to read some books last year - even comic books (I went through a phase of Far Side and Dilberts - and yes I've read them all - even Cartoons from the New Yorker!).
Read heaps during the holidays too - I really like Reader's Digest (I take it to the gym while waiting for my class) for it's useful and quite current tidbits of info. Tried a Sophie Kinsella - "Confessions of a Shopaholic" but I'm afraid I might pass on the Shopaholic bandwagon - it was a bit too popcorn. But hey, I'll still give her a go with "The Undomestic Goddess" if I can get my hands on a copy...
Just finished Further Under the Duvet by Marian Keyes too. She's very Chick-lit. I still like her. :)
~Nis I'm sending you a little book Penguin did of her shorts so you could give her a go - see if you like her :)
Hmm, I think the only unfinished book I have under the bed is the Anthology of Australian Folklore - after I finish it I'll start with my list...yay!
