Hmmm, just thought I'd update my LJ and post photos of our last RYPEN camp - in Shoalhaven early this month. It was the third camp that Brett and I led.
It sure was an action packed weekend - there was swimming, archery, abseiling and digital photograpy among other things..there was also the more serious sessions (I delivered the first module that I developed about making hard decisions in life).
AND ALL THESE WERE FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF 101 15-17 YEAR OLDS!
It was the biggest camp we've ever led!
==========
We're hee-eeere! Coming up to Waterslea Camp with ten of the 101 delegates was a breeze. We didn't hear any "are we there yets" (they were more the, "how long before we get there?" crowd) and only had to stop for one extra toilet break. LOL
There's Brett with his cup of coffee bracing himself for the sudden onslaught of teen spirit this batch delivery courtesy of Murray's Coaches.
Great session hall - it looks great at night. On the last evening this was also where we had the Australian Bushdance. That was good fun - the boys and the girls danced together, well, even the boys were game to dance with the other boys - good sports that they were!
The other side of the building was the huge dining area and the game room was downstairs. I must say I was impressed with the range of games - indoor cricket, pool table, table tennis, foosball, even a giant chess set!
Home away from home - my bunk for the duration of the camp. It's nice and clean like a youth hostel - got it's own toilet and bath facilities as well as a balcony.
Dig the amazing transformation between the sunny outlook the next morning after the previous night's storm. If this doesn't make you appreciate and respect nature...very little else would.
EXTRA: This photo if of a house in our suburb. Kudos to them as they dress up their house every single year for charity - they help raise money for SIDs for Kids in commemoration of the grandson they lost to SIDS by collecting gold coin donations.
