For once we had awesome weather here this weekend.
This weekend was fun. I have so much going on this month, so this last few days were suppose to be my time to stay home and save some money for the upcoming weekends. Well needless to say that it did not happen.
Saturday my mom called and said that her and my brother were coming down for some shopping etc. They stopped at my house. My nephew and brothers fiancee were with also. We went to Red Lobster for dinner. It was great. The Cheddar biscuits ROCK. I love them. We went shopping and they told me that it was community days at home and there was a street dance in downtown Valley City. When it is Community Days, that also means that all of the high school reunions are going on also. Ann and I were not doing anything.. so we figured what the hell.
We got to Valley and stopped at my parents. Everyone was outside, my dad is finishing a new patio. My god parents(ok.. not really my style, but that is how close they are to me)were there helping my dad. Dee Dee my godmother is the shit and I love her. We always have a good time together. Well it turns out that my friend Shannon and Jerr were in town also. So we headed over there before going downtown. Jerr's parents live outside of Valley a bit. They have a huge yard and we were eaten by the mosquito's. We had a drink or two and headed downtown. I ran into so many people that I haven't seen forever. Some people didn't even recognize me. I don't think that I have changed that much, but I guess so. I only spent $10 on beer for myself.. One thing about Valley.. It is very cheap to drink there.
Also I didn't think that I had that much to drink, but apparently I did. I guess I was rambling, crawling down the sidewalk and singing "Stairway to Heaven" with Jerr's dad... It was a good time and I am glad that I went.
I finished reading The Color Purple today. I have loved the movie forever, so I thought that I would check it out to see what the book was like. I knew that Celie and Shug were lesbians, but the end of the book delt with Celie's sexuality more than the movie did. In the movie, it was just suggested.. in the book they end up being lovers. I would have to say that I liked the movie way more than the book, but usually most people read the book first and compare to the movie. I guess that I am just a bit odd. I can see how they needed to change a few things to make the movie work, I think it would have been kewl to have them deal with the sexuality more, but I guess that the movie was made in 1985.. so they probably wouldn't have gone there.. so that is why there were so many changes..
Anyhew.. I guess that is what I know today.
