So, it's been nearly a month since my last post. I actually had a vacation from work, but as it was preceded by nearly non-stop working, and followed by...you guessed it, NON STOP WORKING, I didn't really feel TOO rested. My main goal was to make me less of a bitch. That worked, so I guess it was beneficial.
Work's been CRAZY the past few weeks. We have a down economy, so people are coming to an overpriced store to SPEND MONEY? Go figure. Especially since we're one of the poorest counties in NY state, and have, I believe, the highest percentage of unemployed. Gotta love how we balk the norm there. Anyway, our weekend was very nuts; tons of people, not a lot of help, so a lot didn't get done, and a majority of us that worked it are just exhausted. I hope it levels out soon. This up/down sales makes you bored out of your mind (cause you end up doing tasks twice just to do something), or falling behind.
Now, I guess, I'm getting yelled at for being early. I still don't drive (don't ask..I don't want to get into it), so I still take cabs to work when I close/open or don't have another ride. But, in order to guarantee I'm on time, I have to call the cab earlier...so as to not be late. Sometimes, this results in me being super-early. So, I clock in and work. Guess that I'll have to call later and chance being late, OR go in the same time and sit doing nothing (on camera no less) until I can punch in. So dramatic over such a small thing.
Chances are, one of my brothers might move to Canada, which means two munchkins I've not seen since Christmas will be the "once a year" visit munchkins, which makes me very sad. My nephew's getting too tall (he's only 8, world! Sheesh!), and my newest obsession is watching Deadliest Catch on tv. I don't know why. It's not too drama-filled. I guess I identify with the weird captains. They're like members of my family spread out amongst 4 families. Haha.
Warmth finally came to NY. I can't even put in my ac unit cause my landlord's gotta take the storm windows off (they're huge and heavy and fragile...and old) and we weren't expecting it being needed this early! I mean, last year, it was JUNE before I had it in!
Oh well. *shrugs* Not too much else happening. Just kicking it day to day, trying to go out more and get a life, and be a responsible adult, even though I wish I were back in that "just out of kiddom" age. I guess we all gotta reach this place at some point...
