RhumbaTecH_: Windows Mobile Phones to look out for...

First up, what we have is the upcoming but not yet out Motorola Q. This baby is slim like their RAZR. In comes operating on Windows Mobile 5.0 but it's the smartphone (not pdaphone) version I think, the FIRST landscape format of its kind. Bluetooth, MiniSD card slot, 1.3 MP camera. Looks quite good. Really slim. Do take note that however this is not the PDA version of Windows Mobile 5.0 you are looking at. It does not have the touch screen capability like normal PDAs.

And then in a surprising twist of fate (but known for a long time already in the tech/gadget circle), Palm has decided to released their next version of the famous Treo series of pda phones on Windows Mobile 5.0 (pdaphone version) as well. This is the Treo 700w. Looking very similar to the HP iPaq hw6500, is has bluetooth, 1 MP camera, not sure what memory card expansion, and seems to be only in CDMA version only at the moment. However of course they will run on the GSM band sooner or later I guess. That's where all the users are aren't they? At least the whole of Singapore is using only GSM.

Lastly, we have the update to the HP's iPaq hw6500, the HP iPaq hw6700 series of Windows Mobile PDAPhones. It will come with built in GPS, bluetooth, 1.3MP camera, miniSD and Wifi. The main diff between this and the 6500 is the lack of the SD card Slot but the inclusion of Wifi and Windows Mobile. Else it's really almost the same. Seems almost like a rip-off to those who already own the 6500 but complained about certain issues. They probably didn't spend much effort at all in redesigning anything. You can have preview of the device here.

Excited...

Basically, I'm rooting for the Motorola Q. However I can't really buy it cause I got my iPaq 2750 so I have no need of a new PDA device even though the Q is not technically one. Hopefully the rumoured Microsoft Peabody phone will be my answer to my Motorola MPX 200.
