Ah yes. Another war starts with the Mothership casting herself into the battle. Microsoft (who gained considerable ground with their XBox in the game console industry) wants a bite of the over-saturated Digital Audio Player market. And the device that's supposed to battle the iconic iPod will be known as... the Zune...
The Zune is reported to be running Windows Mobile on a 400 MHz processor, with 30GB memory and costing around USD$399. Although I honestly think that it's cool since the device is expected to run in Windows Mobile and I'm a big Windows Mobile supporter myself, I don't think it's going to be easy for Microsoft to fight Apple. It sounds more expensive, doesn't look so differently special from the hordes of Digital Audio Players out there and... the name just sounds weird... Like June with the 'Z'... (ah... it IS June with the 'Z'...) However, seeing Windows Mobile on the device does looks nice and customizable to me.
