My office HP LaserJet 1100 printer was going bonkers for two weeks. One of my guys had just printed a very huge file (I think) to the printer and somehow the computer spooled the entire document to the printer and the printer kept printing garbled message and all. And it wouldn't stop. I can't cancel/stop all prints because everything had already been spooled to the printer.
So there we were trying to keep feeding it paper, in the hope that it will print finish all the garbled ASCII, however it has been TWO freaking weeks and it is still printing garbled text and it's overheating and all.
So in all stupidity and reluctance (stupid me should have done it earlier), I finally googled for help.
Simple step:
- Go into command prompt.
- At 'C:\' type 'DIR>LPT1' where LPT1 is the location of the port which your printer is located at.
- Unplug the printer and plug it back it.
And tada! It finally stopped printing garbage. Yes! I think that command I entered somehow removes all printing in the printer itself does it? I don't know.
