I forgot my number rule when it comes to purchasing new programs or hardware. Research.
Of course, this is with regards to my recently upgraded iPaq, now running horribly sluggishly on Windows Mobile 5.0. I just presumed that everything would be okay from one lousy review I read on the net some where. However, I faced a few problems installing the EXTREMELY unfriendly setup software(while installing it freezed... and I didn't know that until much later... No way to know at all if that was what it was supposed to be doing...). After managing to squeeze through... I am now having an extremely screwed up time trying to synchronize data between my lap top and the PDA. It just isn't happening. And there is nothing to indicate to me if this is what should be happening or if there is something wrong so I am extremely pissed off and fustrated right now.
So I went to the net to search for tales of successful upgraders of the WM5 patch. Almost all of them complained about horrible performance after installing, frequent crashes when installing programs, and many downgraded back to Windows Mobile 2003SE. So it's my own fault for not searching up for these news first before making my lousy USD$39 purchase on this operating system.
I'm terribly disappointed with HP right now for daring to sell such a screwed up update patch. Their service and care for customers has certainly dropped since I last had my HP Jornada PDA.
I am an extremely pissed man right now. Have to sleep with a non-operational PDA... But Windows Mobile 5.0 did look really nice... if only it didn't suck... sigh.
