So it's been a busy week, as I expect they all will be. I've been pondering my newest D&D character in great detail and I think I've got him sorted now. I haven't done anything on my project this week as I had assessed coursework to worry about and sleep to catch up on. I finally got another chance to play Warrior Knights this week and it is still ( Read more... )

You should go to them at some point. Theater uis good, though I've not been to many. Ballet should not dismissed due to the stereotype. there's no speech so you have to pay attention to body language, but it's all very good, and you can get the jokes and what's going on and stuff. You should really go to a ballet at some point.

My new D&D character is a warforged artificer. Though I'm not sure you know much about the Eberron campaign setting. Warforged are like robots. They're living constructs, you get some of the great things about being a construct but not all of them, plus it's a base race. It's really useful to not need to eat, sleep or breathe. Anyway, an artificer is a new base class for that setting (hence why I wanted to try it) which focuses on crafting things. You get points to use instead of xp for making magic items (it refreshes (and increases) when you level up, so it's limited, but nice to have), you get every item creation feat in the PHB, you kinda get spells, though they're mostly buffing spells and often take a while to cast (but they're very useful), you can also emulate any spell for making magic items with use magic device, oh and you can deal with traps like a rogue. It's interesting. Your buffs work best on constructs, so being a warforged, i can buff myself very effectively. Another thing I've noticed about artificers is that they can create constructs a lot sooner than wizards can since they just emulate the required spells with a use magic device check, rather than to be able to cast them (the usual problem being limited wish). So I'm looking forward to making golems, though I might get into trouble if I make flesh ones, hehe.

I decided that he was around for the Day or Mourning (where a whole kingdom got nuked somehow), though he outside the kingdom, he was one of the first inside to investigate. In the war, he mostly fixed other warforged and stuff. Once the war was over, he joined up with a cult that believes in a warforged deity the Becoming God, whose body has not yet been built. The main duty of followers is to collect bits for the Becoming's body. So he's out exploring the world for interesting bits, and also to find things that might explain more about the Becoming God, or finding the Firstforge. That's the abbreviated version of his backstory, anyway...

Thats an awesome back story! Sounds like quite a cool character concept, im intrigued as to how not needing to eat/sleep/breathe isnt broken... whats the down side? Does that mean you could just set off and walk around the world - up the highest mountain and under the deepest ocean? Sounds really cool tho, sentient robots ^__^

I've only seen full metal alchemist once (and i dont think i liked it much) but i now have a picture of you looking like the leads larger metallic brother :P

Whats your alignment? I imagine you calculating the death toll as you stand outside that nuke blast radius then going to investigate lol.

Hehehe, the not needing to sleep/eat/breathe isn't broken as it doesn't actually help you in combat or anything. But it saves on money and crossing deserts/mountain/oceans. Though walking across the bottom of an ocean is dangerous as something might eat you.

When I was watching Full Metal Alchemist, I kept thinking about warforged, and that made me like Alphonse a lot more.

My alignment? I'm leaving it at neutral for the moment. It'll either be neutral good or neutral, and since the Becoming #God is neutral and warforged are usually neutral, I figured I'd leave it at that.
