Here I am coming home from another late Charlie Brown rehearsal...
State was amazing. Not only was there a much needed break from everyday life, but I felt rejuvenated by the overwhelming energy of the masses. Our troupe was fantastic. I bonded with Mrs. McCall (again) and my room Jake, Ben, and Joe. I also spent a lot of time with Tawney. State is so wonderful for me because I have my father there. He's not omnipresent, but there when I want him to be. And considering our shaky past and former inability to communicate, his presence and support is so important to me. Of course there were varous other people who mean so much to me and further developed this trip.
Don't get me wrong...there was drama on this trip too. And once again I got an excellent. But on this trip I found the ability to overcome every obstacle. Within each person I could find stories of abuse, drugs, cheating lovers, failure, sexuality. Intense problems. Yet within our community...what we call our troupe...we could all find comfort. And I was retaught the value of community. We all have to watch each others' backs. And I'm glad that I have such wonderful people around me to do that.
