Tired of the wind, of the cold, of the loneliness.
If he’d been thinking clearly he would have been worried that he’d stopped physically shivering long ago, but his attention was with the bird that was swooping across the sky.
Familiar voices whispered across the frozen silence as his wand slipped from his cold fingers.
He turned his head as the ghost of a half forgotten memory flitted across the bitter expanse, a hint of a smile began and then was lost as the light of her voice flickered and then disappeared.
He just wanted to sleep.
