Rocky Con

Can't believe it, but I went to the Chicago Rocky Con this past weekend. I haven't actively been involved in Rocky since May of 05. Yeah, over a YEAR! I've been to a few shows spread out during that time (a few in DE, Fairfax last Aug, and a halloween show in PA). After this weekend, I realized how much I missed it. I planned on going to this con months ago, almost as soon as it was announced. Chicago is a great city and I recommend it to anyone, but I digress. This was going to be about Rocky.....

Another thing that suprised me at the con was when I heard a rumor that I was welcomed to perform at Fairfax. Took me off guard. A full year plus has passed since all that went down. I'm surprised I'm even remembered now in Fairfax. The majority of the cast that was around a year ago are gone, and of those left, I wasn't even sure that I would be welcomed to even come and SEE the show. Personally, I'm way over those events. One of the reasons I haven't gone back was because I didn't want to start trouble. And then, a past cast member from Fairfax actually emailed me. Said person isn't on cast currently. Things never cease to amaze me. I was actually pleasantly surprised.

I do keep up with current events with Rocky and LJ and those folks in Fairfax. If they post on LJ, for the most part, I still have them on my friends journals and I read about stuff now and again. I do it just for curiousity sake, nothing else. I'm thrilled that Fairfax has a show that's been ongoing for over 3 years. And, from what I've heard, the crowds are close to sellout every week. To me, that's amazing. During the con, folks were talking about how they are lucky to get 40 people a week.

Before the con, I decided to try and become active in Rocky again.  With my personal life doing a 180 and theater basically gone, I really wanted to go back into Rocky.  So, the only active cast was in DE.  Yeah, so I started going up to DE.  Now, I'm not going every week, and don't plan to.  I can actually say that I don't want to do Rocky every weekend.  I think it would kill me!
