The tricky part of recorder karate...
So the concept of recorder karate is really easy; we assigned certain songs a belt level and if you pass them you get a string to tie on your recorder. Cute, right? Sarah is about to play and Naveen comes and interrupts us
Naveen: Wait, Mrs. Manion, do you think you could help me get my belts on my recorder? I knotted them but they fell off.
Sarah: *whispers to the person beside her* Naveen doesn't know how to tie knots.
Me: *glares at Sarah while speaking very sweetly to Naveen* Sure, watch. Cross the ends, tuck one under, and pull it tight...
Naveen: That's what I did!
Me: ...then repeat!
Naveen: ......Oh. I only did it once.
Me: Yeah, that's NOT a KNOT.
