What I Learned at TMEA
...was actually lots of stuff, but only one thing that really REALLY matters to me right now:
I am a middle school teacher.
Music is my medium.
I can become a better band director. I am smart and musical enough, and I'm not BAD at it now. I am already a very good teacher. Great, even. Deep breaths. It will be okay. My job does not suck. I do not suck at it. It will be okay.
Nothing else to update on now, as things with my extended family are sort of falling apart and we're very frustrated about the house hunt.
ETA: Steven Colbert just looked a Congressman from Arkansas in the eye and asked "Do you think people who suck toad should be allowed to marry?" I feel better. :D
