How do people find new stories? New to the community at large, that is. I usually follow recs, but who starts it? Betas and popular authors, perhaps. Here are two stories, one gen and one slash.
Postcards to Jeannie (gen) by Sholio - This links to the first page. It's graphic heavy and has a number of pages. The story - Jeannie and Teyla correspond via postcards. It's just a fun read, learning the characters through their own words.
Missed the Saturday Dance (slash) by Zoetrope - This links to the index page for the story. I've already seen multiple recs for this story, but I'll go ahead and put it here anyway. The use of multimedia caught my attention enough for me to give it a shot, despite my initial hesitation. I just prefer modern/current time au's. And then the ending...not my prefered type of ending. But the whole conceit of the storytelling makes for a lovely journey.
