dream

The dream starts off with me bumping into Dad in Lower Queen Anne by Pagliacci's. There's an ugly drug dealer-type goon standing around, keeping an eye on him. He doesn't seem bothered by him but it's obvious he's recently been punched in the nose because it's all dislocated and bulging on one side. He pretends that everything's fine. We've met up so he can bring me money and he's happy because he's succeeded in getting the money to me. He's also very happy because I managed to get him a ticket to see Gruff Rhys with me. I feel bad though because it's obvious that getting the money wasn't easy (as the broken nose suggests). We immediately head off towards the Arts Centre (switch to Aber) and Rachel's with us. On the way, we wander through a hospital and I poke my head in an operating room where a gaggle of surgeons are performing a lobotomy. It's a cramped room and it's clear I shouldn't be there. So on we go down the corridors, out of the building, finally making it to the Arts Centre where the lobby is packed with excited Gruff Rhys fans waiting to be let in to the Great Hall. At this point, something very strange happens. At the foot of the main staircase stands a woman who has recently given birth, as her belly attests, making dramatic, sweeping arm gestures and dancing--almost drunkenly--in place. Floating a few inches above her shoulder, with one hand holding the bannister, is her baby, mimicking her exact sweeping, slow movements. But what seizes everyone's attention is the fact that the baby is pregnant. Everyone stares in horror and disgust at the baby's round belly, aghast at the wrongness and freakishness of what they are seeing.

I don't even want to know what the psychiatrist would make of that one!
