Japan Quake Map is ready!
After a few days of hard work, the Japanese version of the Japan Quake Map is now up and running online.
I feel really good about it. The responses so far have been very positive, and it seems Japanese people are just as keen to see what they are feeling visualized as we were here in Christchurch. My Japanese friend on twitter thanked me and my friend for going to the trouble to make the map and translate it when we are both in Christchurch and are coping with the recovery from our own disaster. But that is why we did it, because no-one understands what they are feeling over there better than us at the moment. Japan helped us a lot, and it is important we do all we can to return the favour and give them a helping hand.
I've been trying to promote the Japanese version on Twitter so that Japanese people can know it is there. So far I'm not having much luck, so I guess I'm going to have to rely on Japanese people who see it on the fan page or on the website sharing it. It is a shame we couldn't get it running sooner, but better late than never.
