Acutally Google Talk was meant to be less an IM program, and more of a direct competition to Skype. The big G still has alot of ground to make up on Skype though...

Knowing Google they will turn it into an IM and Voice monopoly soon enough.

Google is getting good at grabbing up Freeware, modding it, then releasing it as their own. This one was based off Jabber/XMP for instance, and I'm staying as far away from their new browser as possible when it comes out.

Yeah I was just told about that. It ate Jabber and used their server, hell you can even connect to their server using GAIM or even Trillian, as long as you get the Jabber plugin for Trillian.

Awesome voice protocol though. Beats the shit out of MSN's WHICH DOESNT WORK lol
