THREE THINGS THAT SCARE ME
-- rollercoasters. I would love to go to DisneyWorld and Universal Studios, but at the same time, what's the point when I wouldn't be able to go on the rides? I'd be missing out on 80-90% of the fun of the thing!!!
-- earwigs
-- Zaphff Creations dolls. They move. They make... noises. They demand that you "feed" them, "change" them, give them "medicine". They are evil incarnate. And the adverts always come in twos or threes, just to prolong the agony. *shudders*
THREE THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND
-- the world of "careers" and how to choose one. Completely clueless.
-- physics. Mark tries to explain it to me, and all I can do is sit and nod (it's easier than telling him that I don't understand, cos then he'd just try and explain it again and I'd go cross-eyed).
-- how anyone can dislike cats. Cats are cool!
THREE THINGS I'D LIKE TO LEARN
-- salsa dancing
-- how to build my own website
-- how to do my PhD!!! :P
THREE THINGS I AM WEARING RIGHT NOW
-- my absolute-favourite jumper - deep red, chunky roll-neck. It's really old and getting thin, but oh how I love it!!
-- old old not-fit-for-wearing-in-public jeans
-- "Dry Bones Dancing" T-shirt
THREE THINGS ON MY DESK
What, this desk? It's kinda communal, but it's the one I can see.
-- Copy of Charles Dickens' Our Mutual Friend
-- My lil' sister Amy's poem, "Ten black cats" (which is really good and very cute; I should give you guys a copy ^.^)
-- Disney Classics The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride Action Game on PC CD-ROM
THREE THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE
-- write novels. At least, have one completely written and finished and polished to my absolute satisfaction. Hopefully, two novels.
-- have a novel published? Dare I hope for that?
-- work out a viable (ie. one I will enjoy!) plan B career for when the novelist career is in development/doesn't take off :)
THREE WAYS TO DESCRIBE MY PERSONALITY
-- insane! But the good kind of insane!
-- generally quiet
-- quirky. I like to say that I look at things sideways.
THREE BAD THINGS ABOUT MY PERSONALITY
-- my temper. I can snap very quickly.
-- I'm very nervous about new people, places, activities etc. I get myself into a comfortable rut and then stay there until I bore even myself.
-- I'm lazy :P But then, you all knew that.
THREE PARTS OF YOUR HERITAGE
You can tell this was written by and for Americans: all this "heritage" and "race" and "country of origin" stuff. I have little-to-no idea about my heritage, and am not particularly interested. I consider myself to be British Northern Irish, and hang where my ancestors came from. I am NOT Ulster-Scot; I HATE the term Ulster-Scot with a vengeance, because it puts too much emphasis on the "Scot". What's Scotland to me? It's a different country. Also, the term associates itself in my mind with a particular kind of smug, bull-headed, "No Surrender", DUP provinciality, which I find distasteful. Plus, the word "Ulster" is just plain ugly. I do not consider myself as solely Irish; Dublin is nothing to me. But I do not consider myself as solely British either, and have always felt uncomfortable about listing it as my nationality. My country is Northern Ireland, and I don't see why I should bury or gloss over that by calling myself either Irish or British. Unfortunately, because no one outside of this crazy little backwater country understands this, it's usually easier to say I'm Irish when abroad. *sigh*
...and now that I've ranted to my heart's content, we can all proceed in comfort :)
THREE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT MY BODY
-- because of my small breasts, I can sleep on my stomach! My favourite position! :D
-- I am generally very healthy and rarely get sick
-- ...err, someone once told me I had nice eyebrows?
THREE THINGS I DON'T LIKE ABOUT MY BODY
-- the psoriasis on my scalp, damnit!! >:(
-- my body hair - why oh why couldn't I have inherited my mum's hairless genes?!?
-- my hips and thighs. But those are my own fault, not of my body.
THREE THINGS MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME
-- the title of my PhD. And trust me when I tell you that you don't want to know! :P
-- I can hold my breath without having to pinch my nose. No, really, I CAN, and I DON'T take a sneaky breath through my nose. Oooh no, nothing goes in or out of that nose when I'm holding my breath!
-- I know I've mentioned my obsession with the name "Perdita" here before, but damnit it is still something that most people don't know about me, so here it is again!
THREE THINGS I SAY THE MOST
Aw, hell, I had made my own list of the phrases I use the most and I don't have it here to consult!!!! >:( I'll fill in my answers when I get my hands on it again. [Edit: added answers Feb 16]
-- Well, yes. (used when someone has stated an obvious fact)
-- But, anyway. (used in resignation or to turn the topic of a conversation)
-- Fun! (can be used genuinely, hyper-ly, ironically, sarcastically, whatever)
THREE PLACES YOU WANT TO GO
-- Delphi - I wanna go see the oracle! In fact, I'd like to go round all the classical Greco-Roman sites. Troy, Minos, Sparta, Athens, Alexandria, Thebes, Pompeii, Rome...
-- Lake Bled, Slovenia. My housemates, Joanna and Pamela, and my cousin Ann all went there on a holiday once, and they're always saying that it was the best holiday they ever had, and how much they'd love to go back. My rl best friend, Lesley, also travelled in the region a long long time ago, and also wants to go back. Besides,
it looks absoulutely gorgeous!-- The US and Canada, so I can visit all you guys, and crash at your houses, and steal your ponies or records or whatever! XD
THREE SCREEN NAMES YOU HAVE OR HAD
(in order of decreasing recent-osity):
-- Rhonda. I'm Rhonda pretty much everywhere. I learned early on that I was more comfortable and less likely to go crazy if I just used my real name :P
-- Evil Elmo or EvEl
-- Pseudonym
Phew! That took me ages to fill out!
