*rubs eyes* Too many poooooossstsss...

Was supposed to be up in Belfast on Monday to move into Mount Charles. My mum went on Sunday night to fill her car up with diesel so we'd have plenty of fuel to get there. My dad also changed her oil. We had to take Dad into his work and then head on to Belfast.

Only we conked out in Cullybackey.

Mum had to come and rescue us, and she had to tow her car home, which she didn't like, cos she's not confident with having something on behind her. Dad got a lift in with Paddy Tohill, a neighbour of ours, who had stopped with us just before mum got there.

So I got to spend an extra day at home.

But what was wrong with the car, I hear you cry?

...Mum put petrol in her.

XD

I finally got moved in yesterday. I think I'm the only native in the place. There's a list in the hall where you write up your name and where you're from, and I'm tempted to put "Rhonda Crockett (token local)" lol. I met an American, David, very briefly, and I've talked to Amanda, a Taiwanese girl, a lot. I've heard movement in the New Zealander's room but haven't met her yet.

The bed sags! >.< It's a wire-mesh bottom, held with springs at the top and bottom and it sags down in the middle. You sit on it and you sink down to the centre of the earth. I put my good mattress on top of the one provided to try and lessen it, but it still sags. It's irritating and a little worrying; I don't want to hurt my back over the head of it.

I'm definitely planning on getting a sofa for the room, though I've no idea how I'm going to get it in. I'm up four flights of stairs plus Mount Charles is private parking so the university security might get snotty over letting a delivery van in. They were pretty brusque with us yesterday: "Dump your stuff and get out." Well, not in those exact words, but that's what it boiled down to.

And the floors are very creaky.

Oh, the extra key that doesn't open anything? Amanda told me that there's a common room in house 15, so maybe that's what it's for. (Damn, I was looking forward to that interdimensional gateway.)

family, halls
