When I got my assignment, I originally got matched with Red Dwarf. I thought maybe I would vid a different fandom on thingswithwings's list, but I kept coming back to this vid idea that I actually had before getting my assignment. The idea was to vid a sort of Rimmer/Lister/Kryten love triangle using Party Ben's mash-up. I had it in my head that the "Chasing Cars" portion of the song would kinda work for Rimmer/Lister, and "Every Breath You Take" would cover the Lister/Kryten relationship (because Kryten's kind of a stalker, yo). Anyway, going from nebulous concept in my head to actually putting clips down on the timeline became a lot harder than I anticipated. Red Dwarf is really static and much of the humor depends on the dialogue, so the footage is tricky to work with!
In the end, this vid is all about Rimmer and Lister and how they're totally made for each other, hee! I really have to thank thingswithwings for pointing out the DVD outtake that ties it all together. :D
