Late night muses and more girl stuff

Woohoo!! I just finished my Futurama paper, except for the Works Cited page which may take another hour or so, but I deserve a break. That and my eyes are rebelling even now as I write my triumphant news. The Muses were placated with Mickey D's, but I think it was the fact that I opened my bag of chocolate/peanut butter chips that really got them going. Whether or not it was intended to be a very sophisticated cartoon, and I think--given The Simpsons and other work  by Matt Groening--that it was intended to be a smart funny, my paper was much richer than I thought it would be. I actually had to cut some things out because my analysis was going far too long. Instead of my original five episodes, I only used three. If I had used five, not only would I still be writing the blasted thing, but it would be 20+ pages instead of the 14 or 15 it is now. Oh, OK. It's only 13 1/4 pages. She asked for 12-15, so I think I'm doing all right. I have yet to "revise" so that may add a little more, or possibly take some things away. Yay.

On another yay note, I received my outfit for my friend's wedding. The pink was brighter than I thought it would be, but that's a very good thing. It makes me doubly sad that I missed my hair appointment, though, because my anticipated hairstyle and color would have rocked with the outfit. I guessed right about the color matching, and suppose that I still could have used pink or  black piping on the top, but it looks good the way it is. I also should have asked for a longer slit, but it works. I don't think the pink earrings I bought will go with the top but the clear stones will, and they should reflect some of the pink. I think that I won't buy new shoes at the moment, unless it's a bad thing to wear suede/velvet/whatever they'd put on shoes with silk and brocade. If those fabrics shouldn't mix, then I may be looking for a new pair of shoes in Washington next week. The good thing about the planned shoes is that they also have clear stones on them and would complete that part of the look. Then again, if the pink stones acutally match, then I may be looking for a solid black shoe. I suppose I could do a sandal type of thing, seeing as it is June and will be hot... That would entail strappy heels, which would require an update of my pedicure. I suppose I could do that. *big grin*

The next obstacle is figuring out what to do with my hair. It really needs to be cut, but I refuse to have someone other than my stylist style it. I suppose I could get it trimmed, but... Hmm.. I wonder if my mom's stylist would be free to help me. I suppose I could email and ask. I also want to find some type of accessory that matches the tone of the outfit. I am bad at chignons and anything that resemble them, mainly because my hair is thick and heavy. It doesn't like to stay up, even in ponytails and braids, and even now when it's not incredibly long. It used to be waist-length, and the only good thing about that was the nifty braids I could get done. I also wonder if using red-restoration/maintenance shampoo would at all help with my natural red. I'm kind of leery about it and also rather incensed that manufacturers of such shampoos don't consider that natural redheads--or strawberry blondes--want to enhance their color. Ah, well. I'll figure out something.

OK. I'll stop there mainly because I need to do something besides type for a while, maybe play a game or something. I also need to get back to that Works Cited page soon. I do need more of a brain break, though.... Thanks for reading. Any suggestions would be helpful, if there is time to comment.
