To drive or not to drive

So I am heading to Chicago at the end of June for my future sister-in-law's bridal shower. Frankly, I wish I could just send a check and be done with it, but I don't know if that will happen. so the question becomes: how to get there? Flying is easy but also kinda spendy. The tickets would be between 200 and 300 dollars plus a week of parking for my car. Driving would be 13 hours each way and 2.5 tanks of gas. I thought if I drove, I might stop at Cedar Point (the amusement park) and get some of my friends in the area to go and thus have a fun day on rollercoasters and break up the trip some.

I don't know. People, please vote:

a) Drive home, 13 hours in the car, hit the amusement park on the way back, show support for your new family-member-to-be, see cute guy friend

b) Fly home, pay the money, spend less time overall on travel, get in, get out, done

c) Send a check and regrets to mother and sister-in-law who are hosting the party, stay in Virginia and be a slacker

d) Take the train for about 200 dollars and 20+ hours of travel each way, have first ever train adventure
