Sooo...
According to the doctors I have probably had H1N1. It hit me Thurs Oct 22. It flattened me for 36 hours or so then i felt, tired and a little congested but otherwise o.k. I tried to see my doctor but was directed to his office's drop in after hours clinic on Mon the 26th. the doc said maybe, probably,but since I was getting better not to worry. But no antibiotics for the sinus infection I also have as a result of this damn flu. I talked to work, they wouldn't let me back without verification of whether I had it or not...sigh. So back to the after hours clinic. Now it was the day after the kids died of H1N1 so rather than a 15 minute wait, Tanya and I waited for an hour and a half. At which point we left as we still had to feed the kiddos. The thing is the Nurse had told us right off the hop, that it takes a minimum of ten days to get over it fully and that no clinic in Toronto was swabbing for verifications it would completely overwhelm Ontario Health, fair enough. Apparently only ER's are doing that but I shouldn't go to an ER because, again, I am over it. I'll wait for hours and probably just be told go home, chicken soup. Sigh again... so how do I get back to work? I call work tell them no swab been told 10 days see you Monday. They say oh no, you still need a note saying your clean...headesk... Monday I call my doctor's office again...nothing no appointment nothing. I call again this morning, I creatively tell the truth and get an emergency appointment with MY doctor at noon today. Thank F-ing god! Rae cuts me a scrip for antibiotics, as I am coughing up and blowing out gobs of green shit, still and says no work until next Monday, that's the 9th for those of you playing along w. the home game. Now i need to get a hold of a manager at work, they can't seem to answer their phones. (did I mention we have a have to speak w. a person policy regarding absences!) And I have to file a third claim for short term disability since I started there in March 2007. Betcha that's gonna affect any shot I have at a promotion.
