work

Well I figured it out.

There are 2 departments in insurance. Sales and Policy services, I work for sales, new business only. Policy services does existing business.

I have been moved to a group of agents covering both Sales and policy services. Here's the thing, our Queues have two levels of priority high and low. I am in the low priority Queue for both departments. Therefore if it's busy in one or both departments, like Monday, I'm really busy. But if it's slow in both departments I'm really not busy. As long as there are high priority agents available in a queue then the low priority agents don't get calls.

So now my job will be either really busy, as generally both departments are busy at once or, like now, really dead. Averaging 40 minutes between calls since 5:00 pm.

This doesn't affect my pay but pretty much kills any chance I have at making bonus ever again.

Still I am on a better shift now, working 9-7 Mon. through Thurs. So I see my kids at night almost make dinner and still have Fridays off.

Can't decide if I'm o.k. or not. A better raise would have helped a lot this year for my job satisfaction.
