This is a small species of rattlesnake. I think it is a Mexican rattler of some kind.
Nile crocodiles excel at staying still and having photos taken of them.
This peahen was also pretty good at the standing-still racket.
This isn't the best picture because of the reflection, but it's a good size comparison. He's a reticulated python.
