Jesus, Etc.
Wilco

Jesus, don't cry
You can rely on me, honey
You can combine anything you want
I'll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun

Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
tuned to chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning your orbit around

Don't cry
You can rely on me honey
You can come by any time you want
I'll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun

Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
tuned to chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning your orbit around

Voices whine
Skyscrapers are scraping together
Your voice is smoking
Last cigarettes are all you can get
Turning your orbit around

I wasn't really thinking about anything in particular this time. I was just playing around.

Liar.

It's about finding beauty in ugliness, and Brian taking pictures of the old, dirty baths (turning on countless straight women in the process) represents this and ties the vid together with the recurring shots from the scene.

More importantly, it's about finding the beauty in *people* despite their various uglinesses. It's about how relationships - friendship, partner, or family - brings out the beauty in the other people. No matter the personal demons and uglies, love - like Brian's camera - can always find something raw, and true - and beautiful - underneath. Family isn't blind, it just sees past the ugliness and loves you anyway.

That's what you meant. ::nods firmly::

And, you know, I think she's right. I'm continually fascinated by my inability to know what my vids are about! *laughs*

ETA II: Oh, in addition, this vid was inspired by this icon by Paddies:

But, anyway, when I look at this icon, I think of this song by Tanya Donelly that says:

I'm not finished yet
I'm under construction
You can peak behind
The curtain if you want

And, that was also what I was trying to show, that these are flawed people, still working on themselves, and that they are vulnerable, letting others peek behind their cutain, but still keeping the curtain up. And they do that because, when it comes down to it, the best thing they have is one another--and that's really enough. :) Yes, their love is all of God's money.
