So, The Vampire Diaries came back tonight. Considering the normal amount of stuff they cram into their episodes at a breakneck pace, this one seemed...off. Slower. Less twisty and full. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy seeing everyone again, particularly Damon, but I am saying this wasn't their best episode ever. That being said, you know the only reason
they spent an entire episode showing us exactly what happens when a vampire dies of a werewolf bite because one of the boys (or Caroline, but my vote goes with one of the boys) is going to get bit by one at some point, and we'll all know exactly what's in store before they somehow save them.
Things I liked:
~ Damon repeatedly saying how much he doesn't care if Rose dies, while repeatedly showing us how much he does. The nice dream while he stakes her and actually cries was a very nice touch.
~ Caroline! Matt! Tyler! "Everyone needs to stop kissing me!" Oh, Caroline!
~ And of course, that means Tyler has to find out the truth about Mason, and the other vampires. Oh, Tyler, Caroline's heart was in the right place.
~ And aha, more werewolves on the way. Surprise, surprise. (Any bets on which of the boys is getting bitten?)
~ Sark! Sark is back!! I mean Uncle John, of course.
~ Oh, Damon. Battling yourself sucks, doesn't it? "I can't be what she wants me to be." Damon, Damon, Damon.
Preview for next week: Tyler! Caroline! Damon being Damon.
Can't wait. :)
