*cough*sniffle*

Still sick.

This has been pretty much sucktastic.  Over the weekend, I had a fever and sore throat that laid me up to the point where I didn't even give out candy on Halloween.  Instead, I laid on my futon and caught up on a season and a half of Burn Notice.  (Which freaking rocks.  I can't tell you how much I adore this show.  And why wouldn't I?  It has the requisite badass, blue-eyed spy in the lead, with a supporting cast made of awesome.)  Favorite bit:

Fiona to Sam: "What?  I can do subtle.  I just don't like to."

Fiona's version of subtle: grab the bad guy's gun, which is thrust into his waistband, and threaten to blow off his two favorite bits if he doesn't come along quietly.  HAHAHAHAHA!  That made me laugh - which made me cough, but it was worth it.

Also, the last ep, with Fiona's brother and Michael racing to save her?  So much awesome, I can't even tell you.  I love this show.

Anyway, the hubby was gone on his annual elk hunting trip until after midnight Sunday night.  When he got home, it was back to work for both of us bright and early Monday morning.  I have no leave left, you see - normally, our contract rolls over in November, which starts a new year of leave.  Except, this year everything is different.  A big new company won the big new contract.  All of us will be working for a new company, making who knows what wages (but they have really good benefits) come January.  Until then, they've extended our regular contract, which means I get to keep working...but have no leave?  IDK.  I'm still trying to find out the answer to that, but no one seems to know.  In the meantime, I'm dragging my ass in to work everyday, while this lovely virus settles in my head, making me unable to hold a thought for longer than ten seconds, plugging my sinuses to the point of cement, making me lightheaded and constantly fatigued.  It's ever so lovely!

Yesterday, we got to meet with the HR person for the new contracting company.  I got the joy of rebuilding my resume from scratch while totally sick and unable to concentrate.  It was not fun.

Today, I'm feeling marginally better.  It's morning, which is when I have the most energy.  I'm sure by afternoon, I'll be struggling not to nod off at my desk.

I really, really feel the need to update the look of my journal.  SCC was a great show, but it's gone now.  I really, really want a Vampire Diaries layout.  Something with Damon, obviously.  I'm actually thinking of something with Damon and Bonnie, perhaps.  IDK.  I can't seem to decide, except that while I don't mind the idea of Damon/Elena on the show, I'm not really excited about it.  I know in the books she's chooses Stefan.  I'm not expecting anything different in the show, and I just...can't get all fannish and squeeful about them.  Damon/Bonnie, now...and really, I just love Damon no matter who he's ineracting with.

But I want a banner with Damon with his lovely blue eyes, Bonnie looking all pretty and strong and witchy, a dark background and some red smoke.  And maybe some words, but I can't think that far ahead.  I can picture it, but the idea of making it right now is overwhelming.  *sigh*

In other news, the new JD Robb book is, of course, fantastic.
