My sister drove down this weekend and stayed Saturday night. I sewed for approximately thirteen hours, until about 2:00am. Projects:
~ the mock up for my Marie dress bodice.
~ the skirt to my sis's dove costume.
~ her pirate bodice for next weekend.
I finished that last one. And that's when I should have shut off the machine and stopped. But everyone else (Rhien!Sis and my friend L) was still sewing, so I did, too.
And woke up at 6:00am from the pain of a migraine. I know better, damn it. I know when I push it too far with sewing, I get bad headaches. This time was so bad I wanted to throw up, and I still had it after taking three migraine advil and dozing for three more hours. It's finally all gone, now, but I've felt sick and hungover all day. My new name for this is a "sewing hangover", lol.
But those thirteen hours were hours where we got a lot done - I finished my sister's pirate bodice, and it turned out better than I could have hoped! I'm pleased, and more importantly, so is she. :-) She made her pirate shirt and pirate pants (which aren't quite finished, but close.) Next weekend I'll post full costume pics as we attend the Portland Pirate Festival. For now, though, the finished bodice (and pirate shirt) under the cut:
