Blood Ties

Pilots are always kind of iffy, you know? The script is supposed to accomplish so much - introducing characters, story premise, setting, set up, et al in one episode - the actors haven't yet settled into their roles, etc, etc. But this one was not only *gasp* pretty darn true to the book for a two hour television premie, but the acting was pretty ( Read more... )

Oh. Well I will have to check it out then!

The Dresden Files is growing on me - I like the stories OK, but nobody really grabs me.

Yea! Someone else watched the episode. I only watched the first hour before switching to BSG, but it's going to be hard to watch both shows since Blood Ties will be showing on Sundays at 10.

I read the first book in the series too and I liked how they pretty much stuck with the plot. This probably has to be the first time the actors they cast look liked what I pictured in my head while reading. I'm also impressed all the main actors are Canadians too! They really want to make this show as authentic as possible!

All I have to say is Vicki is one lucky girl. I think Celluci was just right with the fighting and the sexual tension and I think Henry was sexy and mysterious too.

Finally got it to download, and I was so happy! I mean, I know Tanya approves (and not just because they let her be a hooker in episode 9-ish), and they cast her dream Vicki, but it was actually good!

I know Tanya said that the change in Henry's profession was because it's really boring TV to watch a guy sit and type for ten minutes, and the Corinnne as assistant was a "damn, I wish I'd thought of that" thing, and that the absence of Tony is because the Smoke and... books are a different set of rights, and she wants him to have his own series.

But I totally loved it. And it was so much fun watching Toronto actually being Toronto for once, and not Toronto-as-insert-large-American-city. The fact that it's the Toronto Sun reporting all the vampire stories is actually really funny.
