So my manager decided that it would be "fun and different" for us all to take turns chairing our monthly team meetings. He said it was voluntary and we could say no, but of course if you say no (and I am often the only one with the guts to speak up and say what everyone else is thinking) then you are not a "team player".

The chair will also have to chase down everyone for agenda items and have copies of the agenda and previous meeting minutes ready for everyone, and whatever handouts are decided necessary to facilitate the pointless destruction of trees. The person who chairs the meeting also has to prepare a team building activity and purchase/gather the supplies necessary for that. I am not looking forward to my turn in May.

I have been taking brief periods of time to google some team building activities and even the ones labelled for adults are most often utterly lame. I am quite tempted to force them to do this one (and not participate myself, because I of course would be the organizer and need to supervise) just for revenge: http://www.group-games.com/action-games/giants-wizards-and-elves.html

They would never ask me to come up with a group activity again.
