great weather today. Hot as hell, of course, but lots of rainbows. Sun shining right in my eyes and fat drops of rain on my windshield, all at the same time.
The sunset was gorgeous, and the neighbors were playing Alan Parsons Project greatest hits, which worked really well - better than it might sound like it would.
Eye in the Sky was playing when I first noticed the bright blue sky with the bright peach clouds floating in it. I called Loren out, and he called his mom out. We all stood there watching it. We had a really truly horrible day today, all of us. And then there was this sunset. Dear gods.
Next came Time. It also fit really well somehow. Loren closed his mom's door so we couldn't hear her TV anymore, and we just listened. His mom and I talked softly about traveling, and about sunsets and sunrises in Texas, where it's flat for miles.
The song flowed on, and the sun sank lower. It felt like a movie, and just like in the movies, the song flowed to its close just as the clouds, all at once like it was choreographed, turned back from glowing golden peach to grey, except for one tiny one close to the horizon that stayed bright and glowing well into the next song, like a promise of tomorrow's dawn.
Time keeps flowing like a river. It doesn't stop, and it doesn't slow down for anyone, and sometimes that sucks, but it's like the sun. It goes down, but it'll come around again. There'll be another dawn. The good things don't slow down any more than the bad things do.
I really felt like there was god-energy talking to me today. It such a hard day, and we cried so much, but every time I looked at the sky there was something there - something saying - hey, life is beautiful. Everything's ok. As long as there are rainbows and gorgeous sunsets and adorable puppies who are so well behaved and concerned for me when I'm sad, everything is still ok. I can do this.
Not sure these lyrics really make sense with the rest of the post, but I'll include them anyway. This is the song that played during the sunset and faded with the light like some kind of cosmic lazer show.
time
Flowing like a river
Time
Beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
Goodbye my love
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love
The tide waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Goodbye my friends (goodbye my love)
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my friends (who knows when we shall meet again)
The stars wait for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Forevermore
Forevermore
Love,
Rhia
