Nice day...

Fantastic day, really. I met Kay-Kay for lunch, got the oil changed in the car, got the emmissions tested for the car, got my new shtickers for the license plate, grabbed coffee for me & the man (delivered to the empty apartment he was working in) and I am now chillin' on the couch with all the windows open enjoying the fresh breeze. Almost better than Calgon....

What else? My contract is still on-going with the same company from last month. I knew it. Last time, 3 to 5 days turned into 5 weeks. This time, 2 to 3 days is now moving into 2 weeks. I am fine with that.

Especially since Renee & I are talking about a girl's weekend in Salt Lake City. Some extra spending money is gooood. Not that we're going to be wild, but I am sure some shopping and pedicures will be in order. Plus plenty of food, cuz that's the way we roll.

I am missing CupCake in a bad way today. Some days are better than others. We grew so close, so quickly, because she wasn't more than 75 feet away if I wanted to see her or for her to come over here. She was so amazing when dad passed away. Joe was wonderful too, don't get me wrong. He did different things than she did. He watched my back with my family, helped me keep my patience with my mom, and made sure I didn't lose my mind. But she was...I want to say rock, but it sounds hard and cold. She was (metaphorically) my favorite blanket, just-baked brownies, and all things comforting. She had company for the Thanksgiving holiday, and would have done anything for me at a drop of a hat that week. They almost straightened up our house. They were keeping an eye on the kitties, and had we stayed with mom one more night, they were going to come over and do dishes, & those kinds of things. When mom called me in the middle of the night, and we were headed out to the car, I noticed they still had lights on in their place, and I saw a silouhete moving around. I called to let them know we were leaving. While we were talking she acted like she was about to offer to get in the car, and come to mom's too. As a side note, they had JUST picked up their company from the airport less than an hour before. This is my dearest friend.

OK. Sorry. A simple post about my day turned into a monologue about one of the roughest times in my life.

Thanks for making it this far.
