So there's this thread going on at the
RangerTalk board about whether or not Power Rangers should have the goofy
end credits dance sequences like its Sentai counterparts have.
I, for the record, am totally in favor of this. I love those things.
Some people on the board are throwing a fit over this, though. The primary argument seems to be that it would "take away a degree of seriousness" from the show.
And I'm just like . . . DUDE, HAVE YOU PEOPLE NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SHOW YOU ARE WATCHING? SERIOUSNESS, WTF?!?
. . . besides, when it comes to seriousness, Super Sentai kind of WINS, hands down. 'cause you're never gonna see PR kill off its main cast's mother in the first episode of the series or anything like that. Not any more, anyway. I mean, yeah, there was Alex in Time Force, but that was Time Force. Which is totally the exception to the rule.
Why yes, I've been mainlining Mahou Sentai Magiranger, why do you ask?
Also, I am a huge freaking dork. I bought
shadowriter and myself two adorably cuddly little teddy bears from the Brookstone in the Baltimore airport on my way home Monday. We've now named them Souta and Sen-chan.
