Growing Up

So I'm all mostly moved in with Andrew... it's been an adjustment in dealing with people, and learning that I suck at interacting with other humans in a living environment. But I'm learning how to do it in a better, healthier way I guess?

But it's nice because we're on the same page about mostly everything to do with the place from what goes in what room, decor and how to work out finances! So that's good.

But more importantly what I wanted to talk about was fashion and my mom while moving.
So, my mom hasn't really been that supportive about me experimenting with fashion- when I was a teen, I was pretty much only really allowed to wear baggy jeans and oversized band t-shirts... anything else would get her making fun of me.
She never cared about my sewing enough to comment on it, never asked about my costuming. (Not that she was against it, just didn't interest her, I guess.)
So, on my dress form I have this dress that's I've been working on for a couple of months because I just haven't had a entire free day to finish it up... it's red plaid, with a bustier top and pencil skirt with black "suede" accents. So, as we're unloading the van at Andrew's, she notices the dress.
And she flips out! She couldn't stop touching it and telling me how much she loved how it looked.
That, I think, is one of the best compliments I've gotten in my life on any of my creative work.
