Back in the ROC

The subject line isn't quite as catching as "Back in the USSR." Anyhoo.

I'm back in Taiwan now. I arrived last night and am rather jet-lagged now. However, I'm going to get shiznit in order, including: finding a job, buying a ticket to Hong Kong or Thailand for a visa run (oh yeah, by the way, turns out I don't have the right visa to apply for work, instead I need to go to a foreign country and apply for one), look for a scooter and apartment, amongst other things. Normally, I might be beset with anxiety and an upset stomach, but it seems I'm getting used to these things, because I'm not... not a lot, anyway. If I can't find a job before I go on my visa run, Pablo (by the way, I'm staying with my friend Pablo for the time being) Pablo suggested I just sign up for classes at a local Chinese school and get a student visa. The reason I should do this before I go on my visa run is that I don't know who I will encounter at the visa office abroad. So far, in previous experiences I've encountered either helpfulness and friendliness OR complete incompetence. If I encounter the latter, it would help if I had some paperwork saying, "Yes, this girl has something lined up, so try not to be so much of a dick to her." You see.

Oh, and in other news, I keep responding to Chinese questions with "Si." I thought that was funny.

Ok, time to either get set up here, or burninate shit.
