Matters of Concern

I talked to Dad last night, he's coming in at 6:30 p.m.
He said it's alright if I go pick him up if you don't want to.
He's also concerned that you're not picking up the calls and talking to him (even if you're mad) incase something important were the matter and he needed to talk to you. He could call me but I'm not always able to answer my calls due to being busy or not hearing it.
Also he wants Roland and Kim to understand the threshold of them living at the house and if they're going to complain they might as well live at her Aunt's house since they like going there a lot. Also he would be keeping the car. If Roland can't get his GED because of his attitude and commitment to studying/passing, then Dad's serious about kicking them out to figure out what sacrifice and hard work is really like. It doesn't bother me because their stay has delayed my coursework and career outlook, having a car, having other things I want (luxuries too), payment for college, and being able to get a job. *Hint: Color Codes for colorful stuff.
Here's a brief bit of my future that I've been figuring out.
So I did some math. I don't know the real costs so that would help my figures be more accurate.
Have you added all of the costs that their stay and Roland's debt totals up to? Then how much it costs us per month for them alone to live with us. (Extra groceries, car maintenance, extra gas mileage, extra electric/water useage, Noah (and his costs), and education costs).
For me I figure (besides my electric, water, cell phone, and cable [internet] useage price) it's $20 a week for spending (food/entertainment) and about $100 a week for the groceries I use and other shopping necesities. .
Total: estimate $380 mo. / $4560 a year. for living here.
When I have a car that's about a $350 car cost a month with at least $20 a week for gas. Also added the monthly insurance cost.
Total with car: estimate over $1,110 mo. / $13,320 a year.
I think Dad makes about... $5000 mo./ $60,000 a year. I'm 7.6% of his paycheck costs right now with around $4560 a yr. The actual costs are probably higher. But I'm a still a small chunk.
Online Certification
The Macromedia Flash MX Designer Certification I want is actually $120 for the exam. Here's a website I was helping to work on ( El Vaquero Spices Co. ). Carlos my buddy offered to pay me $120 for making that animation that's on the site. (I made a better one but still needs to be added).
I already have a Cisco Certified Network Associate certificate for the Cisco 1 & 2 coursework in Networking I did the previous year but networking isn't the career I want to pursue. The career salaries for game design are in the same range. Unfortunately I'm going to do some Cisco 3 & 4 coursework next year which I'm not going to think of as that important.
This senior year I will be using those Art History books you bought me for college credit in Art History. I will be creating a portfolio as well for college credit in Art Design (or named similar to that).
So I really need a job when I have a car.
I see jobs that offer $400-$500 a week but they mainly require me having a car or a reliable means of transportation. I think some require me to travel around. So if I had a job like that, it would be $1600- $2000 a month. / about $17,600-$22,000 a year. I would be making about ($17,600 minus $13,320) $4,280 to spend a yr.
College
Beyond already having about 17 credits in college at Northwest Vista College...I need 24 or something? I will be making more this senior year.
I really want to go to FullSail after high school, that program's about a year and half long not including the summer. Tuition itself is about $35,000 or so at FullSail. I would need to have a place to stay as well, which could be up to another $400 a mo.
For going to college I could be spending $35,000 + $400 a mo. ($4,800 a yr)
I would need $1510 mo. / $18,120 a yr.
So I've been looking at scholarships and this Young Epidemiology Scholars appeals a lot to me. If I were to do a really goodjob with that I would not have to worry about my college funding. This reminds me of the amatuer science fair project I did with music and behavioral studies in 8th grade. I'd like to do some epidemiology research in the spread of behavior or mental disorder. Figuring out the hypothesis and area to research where others have not gone before will be hard to discover. I have untill Feb. 1 to have that submitted.
All this leads up to me thinking about being a Game Designer or Game Producer?
Hopefully I can get a professional part time job while I'm there (In Orlando, Florida) and make at least $2000 mo. / $24,000 a yr. I was looking at working for EA Games in Orlando, Florida. The Flash Certification will help in certain areas.
College Job
I could try and apply for a position as a Game Artist with $57,000 yr. being a good starting career.
(Then I start to think what the purpose of going to Full Sail would be after that?) Perhaps I could apply at some of these game companies for being a game artist instead of going to college.
And after making enough money get my bachelors in digital media or something of the sort.
Well after looking into it the working possibility is going to college while getting a paid internship. So the actual salary might be different.
So in essence... by the Fall of 2006 (next year) I could possibily get a job at $57,000 a yr with my Art and Digital Media talent. Which doesn't compare much with the $1510+ mo. / $18,120+ a yr. I would need to live on my own.
Realistically!
I only need parental support and finance for another couple of years!
- My further plans are to open up my own studio. I was wondering if I could find a loan or even a grant for that. It's nothing new considering how I'm doing freelance graphic and web design right now for my co-company "in progress" Atept Design. But we need money and more gear.
- I'd also like to create a comic and animation (preferably within the year). And by chance release it to a publishing company and even making profit from that would be great.
- With the comic I want to produce an audio cd of my composition to go with it.
- There's something else I wanted to do but I forgot what it is.

I think I'll be visiting Dallas for a week and staying with Mustafa.(Fricken Delta can't fly straight to Dallas/Ft. Worth airport anymore...I have to fly to friggen Atlanta and connect a flight to Dallas if on Delta). Unless I submit to another airliner... like Southwest... Out of my 18 years of flying I don't recall ever being on another airline provider other then Delta.
Also. Alan and Jeremy want to visit Burbank again, I'm all up for it. Sometime this summer. Some time for Cali.
