i'm back
well sorta. we still don't have power (2 weeks! yay! >.< ) and the constant thrum of the at&t generator outside of our fence doesn't really work as "white noise" to help me sleep better. and it is finally a bit cooler here in houston, but we can't open our windows anymore because if we do the gas stench from the generators will make our home smell like a garage .
we decided no to alaska. just too many cons (freaking expensive housing, hassle of moving, being separated for over nine months, leaving my job [which i love], higley possibly doing something he wouldn't enjoy, and bears) outweighed what pros were there (SNOW!, having a long distance relationship with my mother, SNOW!!! pretty mountains, and did i mention SNOW!)
so yeah, i escaped to my mom's house today (even though there were over 100 trees down - many of them on power lines- she managed to get power 2 days ago)... she went up to austin to "escape it all" so i have the house to myself (higley's still at work) and have enjoyed vegging out in front of the tv.. i spent 2 hours watching 7th heaven on wgn.. and loved every hokey excessively christian after-school special minute of it.
