Tomorrow the condors!
hello all! first of all i´d like for you to forgive any typos.. the spanish speaking keyboard is a bit different and it is common for me to make mistakes!!!
ok, so spent a day in lima (twas quite nice-- i ran into the kiwi i met on the plane down near the ocean. it was neat!) dave and i got on a bus to head to nasca. we saw some of the lines and a few images, but not the neat pictograms coz we weren´t able to take the plane ride. sigh. but what we saw was still neat
whilst in nasca dave and i had the most amazing fried chicken dinner with this unbelievable sauce. it was to die for. .and the entire meal, hardly 4 dollars for the two of us. insane! oh, at the bus station in nasca a young man with down syndrome came up to me and gave me a kiss on the hand! he was the cutest person i´ve ever seen, and he was so nice. and it wasn´t like he was just hanging around the bus station- he worked there. its really neat, in peru everyone has a job and everyone does something . it really is quite amazing.
after nasca we bused for 9 hours to arequipa (long ride bc of mountain roads). arequipa is called the white city bc it is wealthy and full of criollios and a lot of the buildings are made with white volcanic stone. so far arequipa is my favorite place. it is so beautiful and the scenery is amazing
when dave and i went for breakfast we went to this really neat little restaurant. i ordered the criollio breakfast consisting, amongst other things, fried bits of pork. after my tea arrived i asked the waiter if i could have a little bit of milk. he was like "ok", started to walk away but came right back. he informed me that the milk and pork would give me a stomachache so he didn´t bring me my damn milk! waaah!
many other things happened between then and now, but i´m tired of typing. as a note to myself i will tell you about my second amazing chicken dinner, the monestary, and how i crushed the dreams of an inca.
